Sprues of all kinds and small defective parts can be granulated right next to the injection moulding machine – economically, quietly and with regrind that goes straight back into production without any concerns. That is exactly what the GRS 180 and GRS 300 granulators from our supplier GETECHA GmbH, based in Aschaffenburg, Germany, are built for.
A granulator beside the press that adapts to your production
The GRS series is designed for granulating sprues and small rejects directly at the machine. The large cutting chamber opening combined with an inclined rotor handles even bulky runner systems that a conventional granulator of this size would not accept. Both models are available in a low or high frame version, with various rotor types and drive ratings – the configuration is put together to suit the specific application, material and required throughput.
What sets the GRS series apart
Quiet granulating
- a split, solid cast cutting chamber dampens vibrations and therefore noise,
- a hopper made of composite material with sound-insulating properties.
High productivity
- the cutting chamber opens without tools,
- the screen is removed quickly and easily,
- excellent access for fast, low-cost cleaning when changing material.
High-quality regrind
- self-cleaning steel disc,
- low dust content thanks to low rotor speeds,
- very uniform particle size, easy maintenance.
Reliability and safety
- safety technology to Performance Level c,
- start-up even with a fully filled hopper,
- the W+T package prepares the granulator for highly filled engineering materials.

Optional equipment tailored to the application
- Rotors, drives and blade grades – the configuration is designed for the specific material so that it granulates reliably, efficiently and with optimal regrind quality.
- Wear-protection packages – with abrasive materials (glass fibres, mineral fillers) they protect the investment and reduce maintenance costs.
- Water-cooled cutting chamber – reduces thermal load on the material, prevents plasticising inside the chamber and allows even critical materials to be granulated.
- Hopper level monitoring – prevents overfilling of the hopper and material backing up in the chamber; it can trigger a warning signal or control a vacuum conveyor.
- Adaptation to production – low or high frame, hopper or free discharge, a hopper for a sprue handler or for manual feeding.
- Screw feeder – for placing the granulator directly beneath the injection moulding machine.
- Flap hopper – for production sensitive to cleanliness, without contamination from flying particles.
GRS in practice

Who is GRS 180 for and who is GRS 300 for
GRS 180, with a 2.2 kW motor and a throughput of around 35 kg/h, is the choice for small and medium presses where sprues need to be granulated continuously and quietly right in the hall. GRS 300 (5.5 kW, approx. 80 kg/h) handles larger runner systems as well as batch granulating of rejects from several machines. Both granulators can be upgraded at any time – from screens through wear protection to chamber cooling.
